Holiday Lipsticks

My favourite makeup item is the Lipstick. A lipstick can instantly change your look. Here are my favourite shades for summer. I normally purchase my lipsticks from Rimmel as they have many shades and are affordable, however I also like the natural collection lipsticks. I have yet to try out a Mac lipstick (I know I really should get one)

What are your favourite summer lipsticks ?

But for now I wanted to show you just a few of the things I am planning to take with me. New Look have a great offer on summer shoes at the moment. Favourite makeup items

I spend so much money on makeup, every time I go into Superdrug or Boots I feel like I have to have a quick look at the makeup section which normally ends in me buying something. I have a few favourites which I will re purchase again and again so I thought I would share them with you.

Rimmels 25 hour lasting finish foundation is a firm favourite of mine, I can’t remember how many bottles I have bought of this. It is the only foundation that I always re purchase when it runs out. It is one of the cheaper high street foundations at £6.99. I think it is worth the money and a lot better than some of the more expensive foundations. Does it last 25 hours, I don’t think so, but in my opinion it does last a lot longer than other foundations that I have tried and gives a nice finish. It has a medium to full coverage but does not look cakey at all. I use shade 100 ivory which I believe is the lightest shade, when I have a bit of a tan I then use shade 103 true ivory.

Collection 2000s lasting perfection concealer has been raved about by many you tube makeup gurus so I decided to try it. It is a great concealer for under the eyes but I also use it for any other imperfections. It gives a good coverage but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. The only downside to this concealer is that it has a wand to apply it which can be unhygienic. I think that it is very similar to Macs select cover concealer, however the Collection 2000 one is cheaper so I use it instead.

I’m quite pale so i’m careful with blushes and bronzers but I have found three which I am always using. These are the only expensive products that I use on a daily basis but I think they work really well. The first is Benefits dandelion blush. It is a very subtle blush that gives your cheeks a healthy colour. It is around £24.00 which is expensive however I have had this blush for a long time and I still have a bit left. It comes with a brush, however I don’t use it as its to square so makes the blusher hard to blend.

Macs blush in pinch of peach is a blush I use when I want a less subtle look. It gives a lovely pink colour to the cheeks with a hint of peach which looks nice in summer. The blush is around £17.00 which again is expensive for a blush, however it is very pigmented and has last me a long time.

Macs bronzer in give me sun is perfect if your going on holiday and want to give your cheeks a healthy glow, its not to bold but you can build it up. I use this bronzer more in the evenings when I am going on a night out.

Topshop mascara is a great mascara to use during the day, I have the brown one which I think is great for day time as the look it gives you isn't to dramatic. For a more dramatic look in the evening I use maybellines colossal volume express mascara. It's great for volume but doesn't make your lashes long, however if I want really dramatic lashes on a  night out then I would use fake eyelashes.

I love trying out new makeup products, the new Rimmel wake me up foundation is on my list of things to try. Has anyone tried it ?

Lace Dresses

I have been loving lace dresses for Spring and Summer. You can dress them up or down using different accessories so it is a definite must have in my wardrobe. Topshop have some lovely ones at the moment however they are quite expensive. I really like this one, however at £48.00 its not within my budget so I looked for a cheaper alternative.

Topshop (£48.00)

  Asos (£25.00)

I found this dress in the sale at Asos for £25.00 reduced from £39.00! The bold colour makes this dress perfect for Summer, I would style it with a belt and a white cardigan.

  Primark (15.00)

This is a dress that I picked up from Primark. It was only £15.00 and I love the colour, it's mint green perfect for Summer. I thought this would like nice on holiday during the day with sandals and then I would dress it up in the evening with a pair of heels.

What trends have you been loving at the moment ?

Product Review - KMS California, Silk sheen styling cream

Whenever I get my haircut most of the time I get asked whether I want to purchase any of their products. I’ve always stuck to the high street brands when it comes to haircare, I use Tresemm'e shampoo, conditioner and heat protector, I then use an Asda serum. I have long hair which can be a nightmare to style when its frizzy but I never thought that it was worth splashing out on an expensive serum.  However I recently discovered this serum which my mum bought but didn’t like, she has short fine hair and mines long and thick so thought maybe it would work for me. I can now say I am in love with this serum! I squirt one pump onto my hands apply it to towel dried hair, I then blow dry my hair and apply half a squirt to the lasts bits of frizz. It makes my hair so soft and gives it a salon look. Its £11.95 which is a lot more than I would normally spend, however you get a lot of product and you only need a pea size amount each time you use it. So if your looking for something to combat frizz I would give this a go.
Let me know if you have tried this and what you think, and does anyone else have any hair products that work great to combat frizz ?

Summer Nails

It is supposed to be summer but as I am writing this post it is looking pretty miserable outside. When it comes to getting ready for summer I always feel like I have to spend loads of money to get my wardrobe ready. If you haven't got the money to buy loads of new clothes I have found the best way to instantly update an outfit is to wear nail varnish. I am a huge Barry M fan and find that they do a great range of colours that will instantly update your nails. Here are a few of my favourite colours that I have bought for Summer. At the moment their is also an offer on in boots when you spend six pounds or more on Barry M you get a free gift!
