Winged Eyeliner ?

So many people wear the winged eyeliner look which I think looks amazing, however it isn't something I do myself. However today I went through my makeup bag and found my Topshop liquid eyeliner and thought why not try the winged eye look. So here it is....

I do like the look, however i need to practice doing it a few times. The Topshop eyeliner was really easy to work with and doesn't smudge.

Let me know what you think

Tag - How Much Is Your Face Worth ?

I recently saw this tag on 'see it love it swatch it' blog, and I thought it was really interesting so decided to do the tag myself.  If you haven't seen the tag before it is basically where you add up all of the makeup products that you use when you are doing your makeup and work out how much it costs.
So here it is .....

Face -
Rimmel lasting finish 25 hour foundation - £6.99
Collection 2000 lasting finish concealer - £4.19
Max Factor Pan stick - £6.99
Rimmel Clear Complexion clarifying powder - £3.99

Cheeks -
Mac mineralize skin finish (bronzer) - £21.00
Mac blusher (pinch of peach) - £18.00

Eyebrows -
Gosh brow gel - £4.99

Eyes -
Urban decay Naked palette - £36.00
Maybelline colossal volume express mascara - £7.19

Lips -
Revlon lipstick - 460 Blushing Mauve  - £7.49
Elf conditioning lip balm -  £2.99

Finish -
Elf mist and set spray - £3.00

Total - £122.82

The total isn't as bad as I thought it would be, I use a few expensive products but then I balance it out by using some cheaper products. Let me know what you think, and if you have done this tag link it below:)

NICKI MINAJ VIVA GLAM - MAC

Nicki Minaj is one of those stars who isn't afraid to wear what they want. Her style is so different but that is what in my opinion makes her so interesting. I was flicking through my October issue of Elle and saw this advertisement.

I was so excited to see Nicki Minaj has a little collection at Mac, I have yet to try out a Mac lipstick however this new shade from her collection definitely makes me want to go and buy one.

I think the shade is gorgeous and would be great for a day time look. Has anyone else tried this or any other Mac lipsticks ?

Fashion Drawings...

On my course at university we do a lot of drawing, my drawings aren't amazing and I am still practicing the basics and getting my proportions right. I love looking at fashion illustrations and seeing how the style of each illustration varies. I am still finding my own style and for now my drawings will remain in my sketchbook, but I thought it might interesting to do a few blog posts about some of my favourite fashion illustrators.

For now here a couple of doodles from my scrap book.

Do any of you have a favourite illustrators or create your own fashion illustrations ?

TREND ALERT! - The Cutout Boot

I was browsing through Topshops website today when I came across these amazing boots!

I think they are great for winter, I would style them with a simple dress and tights because I think the boots would make the outfit a bit more edgy.

These will definitely be on my wishlist

What do you think, how would you style them ?

Product Review - Estee Lauder Spotlight

I'm not one to purchase expensive skincare products, I stay away from the high end brands and head down to Superdrug or Boots instead. However when my nan kindly gave me this Estee Lauder spotlight cream I was more than happy to try it out. I used it on top of my moisturizer and hated it. I felt like it didn't benefit my skin at all, however it does have a illuminating quality to it so I decided to try it again, but this time I mixed it with my foundation. Ever since then this has been my go to product. I only use it on my cheeks but it makes my skin glow and gives the skin a nice dewy finish which I think looks really beautiful.

At around £27.00 a bottle it isn't exactly cheap, but I do think if you have the money and want to refresh your makeup look then I would definitely recommend this.

Has anyone else tried this or something similar ?

HOUSE OF HOLLAND

Henry Holland has always been one of my favourite designers. I love how bold his designs are, and he creates so many unique outfits. Although I don't own any of his clothes, I love seeing his new collections.

These are my favourite pieces from the collection, I think the way they have been styled is great. It really suits autumn/winter yet still has the signature bold colours that House Of Holland is known for.

These iPhone cases are really cool, I think they are great for someone who wants to have a piece of the House Of Holland style but is on a budget.

Henry Holland also has a collection available in Debenhams which is called H! By Henry Holland. This is more accessible for people wanting the style but at a high street price. I think these satchels are amazing. They would brighten up any outfit and satchels are a big trend at the moment.

Does anyone else love Henry Hollands collections ?

You can check them out here

Lita style boots...

I recently posted here about a cream pair of boots I purchased from Linzi shoes in the style of the Jeffrey Campbell litas. Ever since I got them I have wanted a black pair and I finally ordered a pair from Tribecca shoes.

I did debate about whether to keep them when they arrived as I wasn't keen on the style of heel, but I think they are such a great staple piece to have because they go with basically everything in my wardorbe. They are not as comfortable as my Linzi pair so i wouldn't wear them all the time, but hopefully at some point I will be able to purchase a real pair of Jeffrey Cambells which I can imagine will be alot more comfortable to wear every day. They were only £25.00 and because it was my first order I got 15% off so they are very affordable, however if you want a better quality boots then it might be worth spending a bit more money.

Let me know what you think :)

Outfit Of The Day . 7

It's my dads birthday today so we went out for lunch which was lovely. I kept my outfit very simple but I thought I would do a quick outfit of the day.

I got my dress from Topshop in the sale, I think it is perfect for summer and would look nice in winter with a pair of tights and a cardigan. I also got my shoes from Topshop which I really like because of the chunky heel which makes them easier to walk in and their comfy, however I wouldn't wear them everyday.

My Current Beauty Favs!

Yesterday I decided to have a big clear out of all the beauty products that just sit in my draw and never get used. So I thought it would be the perfect time to do a post about my favourite beauty products that I use all the time.

The bare minerals brush cleaner is what I have always used to clean my brushes. I think that it works really well and has lasted me a long time (however I probably don't clean my brushes as often as I should.) You can purchase this from Feel Unique.

I used to use Simple moisturiser, however I saw this in boots which seemed like a cheaper version. It is basically the same and is really moisturising on my skin and it also contains Aloe Vera which soothes the skin.

I got given this Sanctuary body butter as part of a set for christmas and I have to say it is my favourite product to use. It really moisturises the skin and I love the smell.

Boots eye gel is my little bargain find. I read all these things abut eye creams and as I am only 19 I wasn't really interested in purchasing one. However this eye gel really helps to refresh under my eyes in the morning and at only around £1.50 whats not to love!

The KMS silk sheen is one of my favourite hair products I have already done a review about it here so I won't say to much about it except that it really does help combat frizz.

And last of all my Britney perfume. I love the smell for summer, it reminds me of candy floss and I think the bottle is really cute. Their not to expensive either which is another bonus.

Sorry this post was a tad longer than normal but I hope you liked it.

Chanel Nails...

 My thoughts...

My Nan gave me this Chanel nail varnish because she wasn't keen on the colour. I love painting my nails but have never tried a high end nail varnish simply because they are expensive. In my opinion there wasn't much difference between the quality of this one compared to my normal Barry M nail paints, however I didn't apply a base coat. I think that the colour is really pretty and great for Autumn/Winter. I also thought that the packaging was really nice, but I'm not sure I would purchase any more Chanel nail varnishes. For now I will stick to the high street brands :)

Has anyone else tried the Chanel nail varnishes ?

Outfit Of The Day . 6 (Olympic Park)

I went to the Olympic park yesterday to watch the women's Hockey which was so much fun. So I thought I would do a quick post about it. I decided to wear red white and blue to match the Great Britain colours.

August Wishlist...

Boots and wedges - Tribeca Shoes.co.uk
Purple Shirt - Topshop
Studded Jumper - Topshop
Cardigan - River Island
Black Dress - Glamorous.co.uk
Dark Red Dress - Glamorous.co.uk
Studded Bag - H&M

Its August!

I am so excited that it's August because at the end of this month I am going on holiday for a week with my boyfriend. Its our first holiday together so we are so so excited! Even though I am going away my wishlist is more for Autumn/Winter as a lot of the stores now have their new collections on sale.

I love the studded bag from H&M I think it is one of those staple items. How amazing are the studded wedges! I'm not sure I could walk in them though. I think the dark red dress from Glamorous.co.uk is beautiful and is perfect for Autumn. The boots are at the top of my list to purchase, as I recently purchased a pair of them in cream which I posted about here. They are so comfy so I had to add the black pair to my wishlist.

What's on your wishlist ?

The Disco Pant Dilemma

Everyone has been raving about disco pants! I love seeing how people have styled them and I instantly wanted a pair. The American Apparel ones where out of my price range, however I decided to order a pair from glamorous.co.uk. On the website they do say even though they are described as black they are charcoal, however when they came I wasn't keen on the colour of them. They were so comfortable, however I think they will look better if you have a curvy figure.

Heres how I would have styled them.

Top - Glamorous.co.uk
(£22.99)
Disco Pants - Glamorous.co.uk
(£29.99 always look for voucher codes I managed to get 20% off)
Denim Shirt - Topshop
(£34.99)
Studded Pumps - Linzi Shoes
(£25.00)

Overall I love the disco pant trend, however it isn't a trend that suits me.
What do you think about disco pants ?

MOOD BOARD . 1

Since I am studying fashion I am always having to create mood boards for my projects. I also find  creating mood boards with things you like can be a great way to brainstorm a fashion look you want to achieve. I received my monthly Elle magazine through the door so have used it to create a couple of mood boards of the trends I love. I can then use them as inspiration when it comes to buying things for my winter wardrobe.

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE the Gothic trend! Plum lipstick is such an easy way to change up your look. I have recently re purchased a pair of the studded pumps because I wore mine so much that I decided they were too old and battered. I have my eye on these studded Dr Martens! I have a couple of pairs and they are so comfy, but I think the studded ones are amazing.

I also saw these really cool patterns which I thought were really pretty yet edgy. I'm not sure that I would wear these looks however I think that they are really interesting to take inspiration from.
